U.S. leading and accelerating the coup in Venezuela

It has been two months since President Donald Trump, who lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton and squeaked into office by a mere 26 percent of eligible voters in the 2016 Presidential Realty Show® finals, denounced the May 2018 Venezuelan election as “heavily rigged,” “fraudulent,” “a sham,” “a joke” and “a disgrace.”

Trump had declared that Venezuela’s President, Nicolás Maduro, who received 46 percent of the vote and was sworn into office for a second term on 10 January, “is no longer president of Venezuela.” He said, “I will continue to use the full weight of United States economic and diplomatic power to press for the restoration of Venezuelan democracy.”

Buying into the “bringing freedom and democracy to save repressed people” in foreign lands – rich in natural resources and/or for strategic military purposes – leaders of America’s Democrat and Republican parties, along with 50 U.S. ally nations, have denounced the Maduro government and supported its overthrow with the replacement of the self-anointed Venezuelan president, Juan Guaido.

SHAPED BY WASHINGTON

Having visited Washington in December and prepped by U.S. officials in the lead-up to his self-coronation, Guaido, who was unknown by over 80 percent of Venezuela’s population, received post graduate degrees from Washington University.

Among the Western mass media, the information being fed to the public regarding the Venezuelan crisis is Presstitute regurgitation of government propaganda condemning its President, Nicolás Maduro as a “dictator,” tyrant,” a “disgrace,” “a joke” and “fraudulent,” while ignoring the fact the election was closely monitored by international organizations. For instance, the African Nations’ delegation stated:

“The Venezuelan people who chose to participate in the electoral process of May 20 were not subject to any external pressures… As such, we implore the international community to abide by international law and the principles of self-determination and recognize what we consider to be a free, fair, fully transparent and sovereign election.”

Moreover, no mainstream media outlet has detailed the events leading up to the American driven coup attempt as has the January edition of the Trends Journal. And no magazine, newspaper or broadcast network forecast, as had the Trends Journal in the November 2018 edition, that Columbia, Brazil and Argentina, under the direction of the United States, had formed a “Triangle of Death” aiming to overthrow the Maduro government of Venezuela.

We strongly suggest you re-read our Venezuelan coverage in the November and January editions of the Trends Journal.

TJ  PUBLISHER’S NOTE: Among the dozen or so Democrats who announced their candidacy in the 2020 race for the White House, only one, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, also a member of the armed services who served combat duty in Iraq, has come out against the overt U.S. led Venezuelan coup.

Overall, most Americans, dumbed down by the steady diet of junk news fed to them by the mainstream media, are oblivious to the current events forming the future Venezuelan trends and their implications. And, while we are doing our best to stop the bloodshed before it begins with our OccupyPeace.com movement, among peace movements overall there is little public and philanthropic support to reverse this deadly trend.

TREND FORECAST

The stage for war has been set. And, as noted, when war breaks out in Venezuela, the explosive effects will spread far beyond the region.

On the economic front, if oil prices spike, the implications on the already slowing global economy will not only push nations into recession, it will sharply increase equity market volatility, which will in turn drive gold prices higher as investors seek safe haven assets.

Further, a war with Venezuela will spread throughout the region, escalating the Human Wave of refugees fleeing the violence, mayhem and destruction.

TRENDPOST

America’s Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, National Security Advisor John Bolton and special Venezuelan envoy Elliot Abrams (a convicted criminal who helped arm Nicaraguan-Contra death squads), have all been ratcheting up prospects for direct U.S. military intervention, covert and/or overt to overthrow the Maduro Government.

While they are all constantly throwing out the “all options are on the table” banality, Bolton who ended the “restoring democracy to Venezuela” charade in January stating, “It would make a difference if we could have American companies produce the oil in Venezuela,” announced on CNN in early March that “I’d like to see as broad a coalition as we can put together to replace Maduro, to replace the whole corrupt regime … That’s what we’re trying to do.”

Then, one week later, suspiciously, Venezuela suffered a nationwide, electricity blackout. President Maduro said “The imperialist government of the United States ordered this attack,” on its power structure calling it an “electric coup” carried out by “criminal minds.”

Subsequently, after previously vowing in January to keep diplomats in Venezuela to legitimize Juan Guaidó, the self-declared president, following the blackouts, Secretary of State Pompeo announced that due to the “deteriorating situation” the U.S. Embassy was closing because “it was time for them to come back. Their security is always paramount. And it’s just gotten very difficult.”
