U.S. AT WAR WITH RUSSIA: TRAINING UKRAINE TROOPS IN AMERICA

The U.S. announced last week that it will begin training about 100 Ukrainian troops at an army base in Oklahoma on how to operate the Patriot missile system that will be headed to Kyiv.

The training will take place at Fort Sill, the same base where U.S. troops are trained on the system.

These weapon batteries are considered the most advanced in the U.S. They are not easy to operate and require about 90 troops who have been trained for about six months. Some military analysts say these systems can be effective in protecting big cities from a Russian bombardment. These systems were designed to identify and shoot down enemy aircraft and missiles.

Critics say these batteries will have no impact on the trajectory of the war and will be a top target for Russia.

The U.S. has been training Ukrainians on weapons systems in Europe but this marks the first time that troops have been trained on American soil. The Kremlin called the decision another escalation by Washington that can lead to “unpredictable consequences.”

Although the training has support in the state, some lawmakers disapprove of the idea of foreign troops training on American soil.

State Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, filed a resolution to reject the decision.

“These America Last policies of the current regime should not be tolerated in Oklahoma,” Dahm said, according to KFOR. “We saw how recently the Ukrainian military fired a rocket into Poland killing two innocent civilians. We certainly don’t need them practicing here in Oklahoma where our citizens could be under the constant threat of a similar failure.”

He said his resolution, Senate Concurrent Resolution 2, aims to reject the attempt by Washington to put “foreign troops in Oklahoma.”

“It even encourages the governor, county officials, and law enforcement to use their powers to prohibit these foreign troops from being on Oklahoma soil,” he said.

The report noted that other state senators gave the decision their stamp of approval, and said training these Ukrainians is important for the U.S.’s own national security.

They said the resolution does not reflect the feeling in the state and they welcome “exercises to defend the lands we love and our neighbors in other countries. We hope the troops from other countries currently training on our beloved military installations in Oklahoma feel welcomed and experience what makes our state the best in the country.”

TRENDPOST: As we have reported, America and NATO are not in a “proxy war” with Russia, they are at war with Russia… as the weapons, training, advisors, and intelligence they have given Ukraine proves.

Yet, the Western media still tries to sell the lie that the U.S. is somehow apart from the war and just providing Ukraine with weapons to thwart Russia’s invasion. We have documented since the 24 Feb invasion that that is not true. (See “RAMPING UP WAR, U.S. PUTTING TROOPS ON ESTONIA’S BORDER WITH RUSSIA” and “NO SILENT NIGHT: UKRAINE REJECTED PUTIN’S CALL FOR RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHRISTMAS CEASEFIRE.”)

The U.S. has been providing Ukraine with intelligence, infantry training, has forces on the ground in the country, and has put sanctions in place – all in hopes to achieve its stated goal for regime change in the Kremlin.

TRENDPOST: On 20 December 2022 we reported that the Pentagon said it is sending U.S. troops into Ukraine, under the guise that they are going there not to fight, but instead just to track the billions of dollars of weapons the West sent into the country.

NBC News, citing three senior U.S. officials, reported that there is discussion in the White House about sending additional troops into the country to help the U.S. track weapons. The report said there are already U.S. troops in the country, again, under the guise that all they are doing is monitoring weapons.

TRENDPOST: Using bullshit language to call a spade a spade, NBC reported U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin (whose previous job was sitting on the board of directors of Raytheon, the second largest defense contractor) saying the reason for U.S. troops in Ukraine was that they needed “experts in country to help Ukraine use critical weapons systems.”

In other words, U.S. troops are needed to aim and fire missiles and rockets against Russian forces… and possibly into Russia.

TRENDPOST: The Trends Journal is opposed to Russia’s invasion, but as we have detailed going back to 2014, we totally understand why Moscow did invade. In addition, as we have detailed, the European Union had classified Ukraine as the most corrupt country in Europe… and this border dispute is not—as the Western media and politicians are selling—of global concern.

We are opposed to sending Ukrainians out into the meat grinder for the West to achieve what U.S. Secretary of Defense, former General and board member of Raytheon, Lloyd Austin’s declared goal of weakening Russia and his pledging military support to Ukraine “for as long as it takes.”

Ukraine’s position has been clear since the outbreak of war: all Russian troops must leave the country before any negotiated settlement can occur. But the West wants to destroy Russia, so it has provided Ukraine with more weapons than it could ever imagine and Zelensky’s goals grew. Kyiv also wants Crimea and said it will not negotiate until Russian leaders face war-crime trials, which will never happen.

The Western media’s reporting on the conflict has been one-sided since before the war began and has—for months—presented the war as a slow-burning victory for Kyiv. Any report otherwise has been met with a tinge of disbelief.

Russian forces have just beaten Ukraine in Soledar, a salt-mine town in eastern Ukraine. Western media at first said the Russians were losing the battle and now classify the victory as a “rare” win for Russia… while ignoring the fact that Russia controls about 20 percent of Ukraine and that they have destroyed some 70 percent of Ukraine’s power and water infrastructure.
