Israel launched a missile attack last week on Syria’s commercial Damascus International Airport, marking the second time the IDF targeted the location, according to reports.

Human rights monitors said four people were killed in the strike.

The report, citing Syria’s state news agency, said the strike occurred at about 2 a.m. local time.

One Syrian military source said the airport was targeted with a barrage of missiles.

Some missiles hit “positions for Hezbollah and pro-Iranian groups inside the airport and its surroundings, including a weapons warehouse,” Rami Abdul Rahman, the head of Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told The AFP.

Syria’s Ministry of Transport announced that it managed to restore parts of the airport and some flights were able to resume later in the day.

Syria’s Foreign Ministry said the strikes are “part of a series of Israeli crimes” targeting the country, according to The Associated Press.

TRENDPOST: The Trends Journal has reported extensively on Israel’s overt war with Syria. Israel sees these civilian airports as legitimate military targets because it is believed Iran is using these airports to support fighters in the country.  (See “ISRAEL KEEPS BOMBING SYRIAN AIRPORTS, KILLS MORE TROOPS,” 20 Sep 2022, and “ISRAEL: BOMBS AWAY OVER SYRIA, BUT LOOK THE OTHER WAY BECAUSE IT’S NOT UKRAINE,” 13 Sep 2022.)

Damascus has accused Israel of committing a war crime and said the strikes “completely” destroyed the navigation station with its equipment.

Since 2011, Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in Syria. Since 2017, Israel has carried out about 400 airstrikes in Syria and other parts of the Middle East. And, the collaboration between the U.S. and Israel is focused on the eastern part of the country… where Washington is in control of its oil fields.

Major General Oded Basiuk, the head of the Israel Defense Forces Operations Directorate, issued the army’s operational outlook for the next year that sees its course of action in Syria as an “example of how continuous and persistent military action leads to shaping and influencing the entire region.”

He tweeted, “We will not accept Hezbollah 2.0 in Syria.”

Israel has also threatened to bomb Beirut’s main airport if it is used by Iran to smuggle arms.

TRENDPOST: Imagine if the headline read: “Syria keeps up bombing raids on Israel.”

Oh, how terrible this would be if Syria kept bombing Israel! In the one-sided world of demonic thinking espoused by Western politicians and the Presstitutes… only Israel has the “right to defend themselves,” steal land under the name of “occupations,” launch preemptive wars to bomb Gaza and kill Palestinians, and operate as an Apartheid state as noted by Human Rights Watch.
