Renewable energy: Another nail in fossil fuel’s coffin

The British government recently confirmed plans to spend £730 million annually to boost funding for renewable energy, particularly wind and wave power. The UK’s Business and Energy secretary cited the move as Britain’s bid to become an inviting home for green-energy businesses and technologies.

At the same time, the government confirmed its plans to phase out conventional coal-fired electricity generation by the end of 2026.
