Patriotism 2.0

The path to the future lies before us. For the awake and alive that stop, look and listen to what in the world is going on, the trend is crystal clear.

The path paved by today’s entrenched political Mafiosi, central-bank charlatans and military madmen will lead to a continuing erosion of personal freedoms, declining living standards and greatly expanded killing fields.

As an American, it breaks my heart to see how a small handful of politicians — a gang of 535 senators and House of Representatives members, and a string of psychopathic presidents — have turned the United States of America into the Big Brother State of Slavelandia in less than a quarter of my lifetime. From the Patriot Act to the National Defense Authorization Act, from the never-ending War on Terror to endless foreign entanglements, from quantitative easing to zero interest-rate policy, they stacked the deck against We the People.

Inertia has gone global

Across the globe, in so-called democracies, it’s the same song — just a different tune. Austerity measures are imposed on “the little people,” their lives destroyed and nation’s economies sacrificed to bail out banks and big-time gamblers, aka investors, who made bad bets and did dirty deals.

Across the “free world” — Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, New Zealand, Australia and everywhere in between — small acts of terror, false flag or real, are met with a massive military presence and repressive measures that rob citizens of their human rights and provide excuses to wage wars and slaughter innocents in foreign lands.

And in country after country, the outcome is the same. A few at the top are given free rein to destroy what they want and rob at will, as citizens obediently take what they are given and do what they are told. Adding moral insult to human indignity: Not only do the political Mafiosi steal the public’s money and destroy their lives, in the name of freedom and democracy, worshippers of these hideous political religions go to the polls to vote the politicians into office.

Clinton/Bush/Obama, Blair/Cameron, Sarkozy/Hollande… all leaders of the “free Western World,” all mass murderers with blood on their hands with sick excuses as to why, when and how it is justifiable for them to wage war, destroy countries and slaughter innocents… all in the name of God and country.

Now or never

We at the Trends Research Institute live by two golden rules: Think for yourself and treat others as you would like others to treat you.

In thinking for ourselves, we see through the hypocrisy of politicians who say whatever they have to as they lie their way into office. Regardless of country, it’s a standard campaign strategy tacitly understood and accepted in political circles. To win primaries, candidates must first appeal to their party’s ideological core. Once nominated, they abandon that core base and slowly but steadily change their message to attract a broader spectrum of voters.

Therefore, now that the race for the White House has begun, we have launched The Presidential Reality Show not only to expose the lies and deceit of the presidential candidates, but also to help open a pathway for a new third party whose time has come. All it will take to make it happen is the will to do so. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has,” noted renowned anthropologist Margaret Mead.

And, We the People, regardless of country, have the power to create a more perfect union. In this issue of Trends Journal, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts provides steps to take and measures to consider that will redirect the nation away from Washington’s current course of war and poverty toward a more fulfilling future of peace and prosperity (see page 26).

The foundation of Patriotism 2.0 is built on peace and prosperity as opposed to the American “exceptionalism” constantly championed by both Republicans and Democrats … a form of “nationalism” that Albert Einstein described as “an infantile sickness. It is the measles of the human race.”

To help lay the groundwork for prosperity, we will launch Occupy Peace on Sunday, Sept. 20 at the most historic corners in America — the crossroads of democracy in Colonial Kingston, N.Y. — to coincide with International Peace Day (see page 32).

The choice is ours. The future is in our hands.
