CEO Report

Invigorating. Inspiring. Richly informative. Downright fun.

There are many ways to describe our inaugural History Before It Happens conference, which was held just a couple of weeks ago. But perhaps the most gratifying element of the entire affair — the first of many to come — was the group dynamic that filled the conference center and all the various events with high energy and a rare sense of purpose.

Our participants were engaged, courageous, informed and motivated. And while I like to think the participants left energized, focused and determined to make a difference, I’m certain that’s how they left us.

The summer conference will be followed by a fall History Before It Happens In Your Life conference, October 17-19, which will present a different program, this one focused on personal empowerment. Gerald Celente and invited guests will educate participants in the art and science of trend tracking in their lives.

The conference series joins a number of improvements under way at the institute, including this new monthly newsletter, a recently redesigned website, enhanced multimedia content across all of our platforms and an expanding network of analysts to bring you forecasts from a number of fields. Of course, none of these improvements — nor those to come — replace the quarterly Trends Journal, Gerald’s nightly Trends In The News broadcasts, Weekly Fredas (humorous illustrations), Trend Alerts, Gerald in the Media and other mainstay features. But the conferences are laying the foundation for an important strategic initiative, teaching the methods Gerald and Institute analysts use to track trends.

We are developing a wide range of programs — such as conferences, one-day workshops, webinars, and partnerships with schools and organizations — to help advance the institute’s core mission:
“A clear voice in a confused world, The Trends Research Institute delivers trends research you need to develop concrete strategies, specific products and on-trend services that will help you thrive in today’s fiercely competitive and increasingly challenging global marketplace. We can teach you to make informed decisions about expansion, diversification, product development, repositioning and downsizing, even marketing, advertising and promotion plans.”

At our facilities in Colonial Kingston, NY, we are making improvements to some of our historic buildings with this training goal in mind, creating a one-of-kind atmosphere to not only encourage learning, but also to inspire participants.

There is no better teller of the truth and forecaster of the trends that affect us all than Gerald. His Globalnomics® model for identifying emerging trends, navigating through them and managing their effects on our lives, stands by itself. It is a lens on the world untainted and unencumbered by political influences, rigid ideology or legacy ways of processing the global reality. As we unabashedly say, Gerald and the Institute “observe and analyze the current events forming future trends for what they are — not for the way we want them to be.”

If our first History Before It Happens conference was any indication, we’re on the right track.
