Excellent reflections of a thoughtful German on the Trends of our day and those of Germany, as well. The progression of most people to full compromise of all their values and beliefs is what may lead us into a repeat of the horrors of the NAZI era in Germany. The way the mind adapts to uncertainty and growing (incremental) changes and most importantly, contemporary trends is a very strong historic parallel.

Real estate valuations. All that matters is the ratio of median price/median income in any area. Historically the US runs at 2.5 and Canada 3.5-4.0. It always reverted back to the norm in the US including 60 years of data. It got back there in 2008/2009. The ratios in Canada and the US gone nuts in the last ten years, especially in Canada with the zero interest rate policy post 2008.
The world financial system has gone mad.
